Have you not seen the inside of a Mini Cooper before? They’ve had a round center stack since basically the beginning of their life. They’re stuck with it now

But even the remake when it came out kept it somewhat tasteful. This touchscreen is just a giant eyesore.

Not really. It looks much more modern than most cars coming out.

Yes really. It does look like a giant eyesore. You might like it, that's ok, you can have your opinion, but it's Peter Jackson's Eye of Sauron in the middle of the car being a distraction.
It's an oversized screen in the middle of the console taking up too much real estate when it doesn't need to be. It doesn't look stylish, it doesn't flow with the lines of the dash the way the earlier Mini Coopers did. It looks like someone turned a serving tray into a screen and stuck it to the front of the interior.
Regardless if you like touch screens or if you don't, it still doesn't look good.

Modern? What phone has a circular display in 2025? Not a single one? Can I buy a circular monitor for my PC? No? Then how is this stupid round screen going to work with my CarPlay/Android Auto?!

Can confirm. Helps that its a high definiton OLED.

That definitely does not help it look less shit.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. I love mine and its one of the main reasons I got the car.

I rented one years ago and thought the big circle speedometer off center was goofy.

As soon as I saw this big dumb display I knew it had to be a mini.

This is way worse than the giant circle speedometer though lol

giant analog speedometer is cool. Giant rounded touchscreen is not. Simple as that

Sure, but it's about 15cm too far up...
