LGBT+ My transition timeline this year. It was so difficult, but knowing that I finally decided to live instead of exist means everything to me.

After more than two years of trying—while watching everyone else around us get pregnant. Going to countless doctor visits, and many setbacks. Having to resort to IVF with only one successful retrieval, we finally received the best news!

P.S. For those going through a similar journey: I wish you nothing but the best. I know it’s difficult, but it’s not impossible. 💛

Family & Friends My best friend gave me a rapunzel doll for my birthday

My best friend and I, both 26, have been joking for months that no one will hold us back from buying Barbie’s now that we’re adults. December 21 was my birthday and this was my present!

We laughed so hard about it, I put it in my Christmas tree as an Easter egg. Ironically, she didn’t even think about it when buying it, rapunzel is my favorite princess, so it was like a cherry on top!

Good Vibes Dylan Shows What True Strength Means

Post image

Sixteen years ago, life dealt Dylan Mills a challenge no baby should ever face. At just 17 months old, a devastating fire tore through his family’s home in Tarkington, Texas. In the chaos, his father suffered severe burns while desperately trying to reach him, and his mother managed to pull him from the flames but not before the fire had left its mark. Tiny Dylan survived, though burns covered 84% of his little body.

The road ahead was unimaginably hard countless surgeries, endless pain, and a childhood spent healing both inside and out. Yet, even in the toughest moments, Dylan’s spirit never broke. He grew up refusing to let scars define him. Instead, they became symbols of strength, survival, and the unshakable love that saved his life.

Fast forward sixteen years, and under the bright stadium lights of Cleveland, Texas, those same scars shimmered with pride. Wearing a sequined jacket and a smile that could light up the night, Dylan Mills was crowned Homecoming King a title that meant far more than just a crown.

Today, Dylan plays baseball and basketball, laughs easily, and meets every day with courage and hope. He’s more than a survivor he’s an inspiration. To his classmates, his town, and everyone who hears his story, Dylan is living proof that miracles happen, strength grows from pain, and real beauty shines far deeper than skin.

Congratulations to Tarkington ISD’s Homecoming King and Queen Dylan Mills and Ashlyn Primeaux! Their story reminds us all that even from the ashes, a brighter future can rise.
